Captivate Video Demo

I have agreed to do a series of sessions covering some of the fundamentals of working with Adobe Captivate. These are to help Adobe Education Trainers. I thought it might be helpful to share this information with readers of this weblog as well.

My first session will happen on March 16, 2017. I plan to cover the fundamentals of recording a video demo, editing it, and including it in a Captivate project. For those who are interested, here is the result (along with the necessary supporting files). Obviously, you will need a copy of Adobe Captivate (version 9) in order to work with either the CPTX or CPVC files.

  • HTML5 result (video demo overview) [opens in a new browser window/ tab]. You will note that I also provided a table of contents (to allow for quick navigation). I also provided captioning for all audio (something we should be doing all the time these days, in my opinion).
  • Original Captivate CPTX file (if you want to see how I did this)
  • Original CPVC file (screen recording itself)

Here is a recording of my discussion. I plan to provide these sessions every month for some time. I look forward to your comments.

  1. Interestingly, in Ontario providing captioning for all audio as well as a transcript is essentially required by legislation for educational institutes.
