Belize photos

These are some of the photos I took during my recent trip to Belize. Since I took nearly 1,000, I chose to be a little more selective. You may recall you can view these as a slideshow at the Flickr site. Just click on any of the photos below and follow the instructions. Belize sounds

Here are some sounds from Belize. I thought you might enjoy listening to these sounds. I will post some photos soon. The amphibians were heard at night, the cicadas were heard in the day. The bird sounds are what I woke up to nearly every morning (unless there was heavy rain).

These amphibians were near the spot we ran a mercury vapor lamp every evening. They were a bit louder than this.

The cicada is called the dentist’s drill. Yes, they were really loud. These were recorded near the lost Mayan ruins (city which has yet to be excavated).
